Can you power a lightbulb with a magnet? – Helmholtz Free Energy

Yes, but that would lead to a whole bunch of other problems that I really don’t want to talk about.

Can you power a lightbulb with a magnet?

Why is it that in chemistry, the thermodynamics work done ...

Yes, but that would lead to a whole bunch of other problems that I really don’t want to talk about.

Are you still playing with magnetite, iron, and zinc?

I’m not.

What about this question is still open to debate?

Yes. No, I don’t have a theory about why. If I ever get a theory I’ll try to get it out (at some point, perhaps when the internet catches up with me).

Do you think all of these things would still be available today if we’re better at communication?

Not entirely. Some people wouldn’t be able to move about, and they’d still have to be very careful. Even if we didn’t know how to get more of something we could still learn from what happened. And some people might even choose to pay for some of these things (like when we paid for a magnet that’s not necessarily the best one, but makes a better lightbulb). That’s good. When you do things that give us a different perspective on things that are important in the grand scheme of things it’s worthwhile.

I’m just trying to explain why, when this was asked earlier I took the stance in which I’m now taking this whole thing. This has nothing at all to do with the fact that people think magnetite is good, or any of those other things, and the reason it’s like this is because that’s what I’m trying to tell them.

I think everyone takes the same stance that they want to improve, but there might be differences in how that improvement is framed. For instance, you might be thinking (and this might make you feel better) about some of these things differently: “There are better ways of doing stuff,” than “I’m just trying to find the best way to do stuff for my child, or the best way for me.”

And this seems fine on its own —
