How do you read a race card? – At The Races Tips

Does it just show “you ran fast, you had an impact”, or does it have a bigger picture of your time or the other rider or that of what happened in the finish? How do you think that race card came into being, from the point of view of “what was the time, what is the outcome”.

And that might well be a challenge for the sport. The last thing you want is there to be something that’s not real and so to have your rider’s time suddenly be questioned, maybe even thrown out by the media, is going to be very difficult.

We’re going to continue to try to understand how to do this properly, but we’re not there yet. That’s the next challenge for us, for sure

also about the sport. How do you manage with the people who know and love and know and love the sport?

How do you keep your job and still manage? I don’t know, but it’s definitely a challenge. This will be discussed at a very high level, from the top people at the UCI and also from a lot of those in the peloton that are doing more with a hand than a pen.

The UCI does what it has to, there was an agreement that we’re not going to have race cards in Europe any time soon, and so that’s an area that I can’t talk too much about yet. I guess, to be a professional rider is to constantly have to adjust to life and how it works. It’s been quite a process, to be honest, and I guess you’ll have to read it yourself.

It’s a huge job, obviously … and I’m not going to lie and say I’ve not dealt with people who don’t like me. I’ve had people say things to me on the internet and in the media, and I mean it. It wasn’t the first time I’ve been called names, so it doesn’t be easy being in that arena. So you just try not to show it … but I’ve learnt a lot, and obviously a lot of things are good and more often than not there has been a lot of good. I’ve also learned
