In general, there are 4 types of horse racing:

Equestrian : races on horseback, usually for 2-3 miles

: races on horseback, usually for 2-3 miles Equitation : races involving a driver and 3-4 horses

: races involving a driver and 3-4 horses Horsemanship : races that involve the driver and a horse

: races that involve the driver and a horse Bantam : races (sometimes called “ponies”) involving 1-5 horses

: races (sometimes called “ponies”) involving 1-5 horses Triple Crown : the 2 most consecutive wins in the field

: the 2 most consecutive wins in the field Bony: the most consecutive wins per field position (eg. 1, 2, 3 etc.)

Note: A horse can win only twice and then the winner is declared. There is no tie between two winners.

Each type is classified into 3 levels. Each level is divided into 3 categories;:

Low (5% of all matches have this tier ranking) Medium (100% of matches have this tier ranking – this includes the “bony” categories) High (all other races have this tier ranking, including the “bony” categories)

Is there a minimum age for being entered for age or “sport” categories?

The minimum age for race entry to this competition is 18. The minimum age when it is clear that racing is to be undertaken is 13. If a match results in a disqualification, then the player on a “sport” section can not re-initiate the following season for any number of years, until the “sport” player has completed his/her final year of racing.

Can I compete in these events without a driver?

You are not required to have a driver for an individual event, but we would encourage you to provide one at all events. In all circumstances you will be expected to compete as a rider and driver. For instance if you are in your first year of racing this is still considered a new age for a new driver.

Can I compete in the junior categories?

Yes, however junior events have a maximum age requirement of 15.
