Caffeine can also help boost appetite. It’s been known to help increase hunger, and increase the amount of energy you need for work, sex, exercise, and any other activities that require energy. The Bad

Caffeine can cause high blood pressure, especially if you drink more than 4 or 5 cups of caffeine a day – but this happens when you drink a lot of it. The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) has suggested that people limit caffeine intake to 2 cups a day.

Caffeine can also increase the risk of diabetes complications, including kidney failure and blindness from high blood pressure. You have to make sure to drink more water (even just one) to avoid this. Many people are prescribed caffeine patches to counteract the effects of caffeine, not something you’d want to add to your coffee.
