It is simply visualising a structure as a 2D shape.

In this diagram, we simply draw a line connecting the points at (0, 0), (1, 1) and (2, 2).

Let’s add another point, which happens to be a “t” (a square). The point is then located along the line between (0, 0), (1, 1) with the same height of 7.

Then, when we add more points (for example, add another square), it is just as easy to create this new structure – with just slightly more work.

The “magic” is in that when we create the shape, we do not need to worry about any “glue”. With this method, you could just glue the top and bottom edges together.

This technique is really nice when you want to create a really complex object (for example, a 2D cube), but you don’t want to glue things together.

Now, let’s take a look what I created in the process.

For the most part, the drawing is very straightforward. I just used a few simple lines and a few lines of code to draw the various things.

For the “t” points, I created two separate views (one to measure from the top, and the other to measure from the bottom). One was created with the following code:

The “line” view is the first view to draw the various points. The view that contains the line will then be placed at the bottom of this view.

The next view, “posX” will be rendered from the top side of the view to the bottom side of the view containing the line. The view that contains the line will be placed at the top side of posX.

To create the “posY,” I just called “AddNode” to take both the top and bottom sides of the view to add the “posY” point. I then just “SubSet” it with a Vector3 value of zero (which means that the line would be 0-based, and not the 0-axis of my line).
