It is drawing a circle-like object with a pen and paper. It is pretty common to see pencil illustrations on your newspaper for small, medium or large animals. Here are some common pencil drawing types:

Pans:

Pans include animals and other characters made with a pencil on a flat surface. The most common sizes are 2″ x 4″ (or 10 x 20 cm), 3″ x 5″ (15 x 30 cm) and 4″ x 6″ (20 x 40 cm).

Pens are commonly used with animals in the following ways:

Drawing an animal on a piece of paper.

Drawing a human or other non-human creature in a circle (with a pencil drawn through the center).

Drawing birds, insects, plants, birds on a piece of paper.

Drawing letters on a piece of paper.

Pens are often used with animals in the following ways:

Drawing birds or other birds on a piece of paper.

Drawing small insects on a piece of paper.

Drawing insects on a piece of paper.

Pens are not used on most of the bigger animals.

Pens may be combined. They are often combined with a pen in order to include a larger animal or animals with multiple shapes.

Pens are not used with insects. An insect pen is a pen made of a piece of plastic used for drawing small insects on paper.

Pens may also be combined with a pencil.

Pans are usually used at smaller sizes when one doesn’t have another small type of pencil in hand.

How do I use paper?

As a general rule, make a new sheet of white or colored paper. When drawing animals, you want the pencil to be drawn inside the circle. (See Drawing an Animal on a Circle.)
