Some spinners like this (especially those with large head movements) don’t seem to have that much trouble controlling their spinning, when the pole moves. Most users don’t notice this unless they’re in a long train ride or in heavy traffic. For example, the pole is spinning at 3mph. You may have heard people say that it has great spin.
How does the pole work exactly and when do I get it?
The pole is made from a thin strip of copper wire on each side. If you pull the wires apart it’s a little like pulling two strands of hair down a curtain wire. The wires are connected by a single screw at the bottom, so you just twist them with a finger to twist the pole back in place.
Do I need to be an advanced train rider to use the P.A. pole?
Not at all – this is a simple product with just two things going for it – the price and quality. You don’t need to have extensive experience riding. Even a basic skill level is recommended. The poles work well for beginners (they’re inexpensive), as well as experienced riders.
Are there any problems with the P.A. poles?
In most situations, the poles won’t be a problem. However, with a few simple tricks they can be a problem.
The poles can be a bit tricky to use if the wire is pulled in too tight at the bottom of their travel. The easiest way around this is to pull the wire away from the bottom of the pole to loosen any slack. Then twist the pole back in place. Alternatively, you can make them slightly larger, to make it easier to pull them around (the more you pull the wire, the more it twists).
The poles are a bit tricky to twist – sometimes it takes a bit too much effort to twist the pole in place. There’s no need to tighten the wire too much – it’s easier to twist just a little at a time. You might be able to get away with making them slightly smaller, to make it easier to twist.
There are a couple of times when the poles become loose. This can happen if they come into contact with hard surfaces or the floor too much on hard inclines. The easiest way to check is to use a small screwdriver to poke a hole in the top of each foot. These holes should be about 3″ in diameter. If there’s too much clearance at the bottom of the foot, the
