In which season Saffron is grown? – Saffron Bulbs Planting Time

This was Saffron’s first time working with the show and we were having a lot of fun making it with her. For a child actor to be able to play the role of a grown up in a children’s show, it took a lot for me to get my head around.

Which character would you love to play on the show? The one you’ll be making faces at all the time?

The one and only! I will go insane over this role and I cannot wait to do it.

Cindy: Saffron Cavanaugh

Saffron is a lovely flower, who gets up at five in the morning every day, so she’s the perfect kind of flower for us to explore. It was such a fun opportunity to work with her. We shot her the first day we worked together and we got back to the studio, and Saffron was just screaming and giggling in her makeup. It was one of those moments when you have no idea what to expect, but when she laughs so hard you’re thinking “that’s the funniest thing I’ve ever seen on set. Saffron might not make much more than her usual 10 or 12 episodes, but I think we’ve given her the attention and respect she deserves.”

The last character we’ve had our attention focused on is the last son from that group, who is an incredibly well-intentioned but ultimately quite naïve and inexperienced father. As is all of this season’s work, it all comes down to how you handle the characters. Does the father come off as “weak” (due to how he’s handled the children)? Or did he come off as “strong”? And if you’re an established director like Kevin Smith, what do you consider to be a great father?

I think Kevin is a fantastic father. He’s been a great mentor to us. He’s done a great job of making us think twice when we look at some of those characters. When you think about how a father is going to approach a child, what are you going to say, “no, he can’t go outside when he’s playing soccer?” You need to say something so that they can be confident they can handle whatever they have to go through.

In other words, Kevin is someone who gets the kids to go outside for safety — that’s something all parents do. He understands that kids can play, but the risk, the danger or the difficulty is there. But he does that on
