We’re not talking about a movie or a TV show that’s just starting its airing or is being created for TV audiences. We’re talking about a new, full length feature film that has been in development for some time and is nearing the finish line. This is a feature length movie that is about a year long in length — the story of The Shining.
The feature film is being made by Universal Pictures and features Brad Bird (Captain America) directing the movie, which will be co-written by Jim Jarmusch (Alice in Wonderland) and John Requa (The Haunting). The title is The Shining, which is, obviously, a reference back to Stanley Kubrick’s original movie. The film will start filming in January of 2012, with a planned release for spring of 2013.
